Intimacy Begins In The Kitchen: The Retreat

If you’ve been following me long enough, you can tell that I’m passionate about two things: food and family.  A few years ago I was blessed to find a way to merge them together and share my passion with other people so that they too, could experience some of the joy I do with my family through something as simple as providing nutritious, home-cooked meals. But it wasn’t always as simple as whipping up and serving a meal…

For a while, I longed for fellowship, love, and laughter around our dinner table, but something just wasn’t right.  My husband and I weren’t necessarily seeing eye to eye on anything and we seemed to talk at each other more than we talked to one another.

Eventually, by the grace of God, we both made a decision and a conscious effort to commit to changing and doing whatever we could to fix what was broken, and we did. What I didn’t expect, however, was that one of the most simple, everyday activities that occur in the household could be used to not only bridge our gaps in communication but also create shared experiences that nourished our family and our relationship.  What was this activity you ask? Cooking!

In addition to implementing sound biblical principles to breathe life back into our marriage, my husband and I saw cooking as a way to be together in our home that didn’t add to our existing schedules because hey, we’ve all gotta eat, right? We found something necessary we could do together that not only nurtured the heart of our relationship, but also the bellies of our family!

Now, after making it through that time (and boy, was it tough!) we’ve decided to take those same principles we used, combined with a fun-filled cooking class, and share them with other couples who may want to re-ignite the fire in their marriages, learn new tools of communication, or simply just want to enjoy the experience of learning how to prepare an amazing meal together. That’s why we’ve created Intimacy Begins In The Kitchen: The Retreat.

This 3-day, 2-night experience is all about couples coming together to create new memories and learn new, effective ways to continue to strengthen the bonds of marriage and family.  I’m excited to share this with you!

Sign up for the retreat will be open to the public soon, and space is extremely limited, so make sure you check back every day because once the announcement is made, spots will go fast!

I look forward to seeing you there!
